Salerno, Campania
An ancient medieval village nestled on the Cantenna cliff at an altitude of about 600 meters, Trentinara enjoys a privileged and unique position, which allows visitors to enjoy a breathtaking view that stretches from the Amalfi Coast and Capri to Punta Licosa and the Sacro Gelbison mountain.
Built as a fortified village, the first settlement dates back to 877, when refugees from Paestum, fleeing from Saracen looting, found refuge here. The name appears in a document of 1092, in which it is mentioned as a donation made by a certain Gregorio, count of Capaccio.
Today, Trentinara offers its visitors a splendid landscape and a great environmental quality. Here tourists can run into the so-called “Via dell'Amore”, an alley near the municipal house where it is possible to listen to the legend “Petra ‘Ncatenata”.
In addition, Trentinara hosts the renowned “Volo del Cilento”, a ZipLine that reaches a maximum height from the ground of 300 meters, a maximum speed of 120 km / h, with a distance of 1500 meters. The adrenaline-fueled flight experience lasts about a minute and a half and, once the arrival point is reached, a shuttle brings the adventurous participants back to the launch point.
